Coming of Jesus
In life, human beings can make promises to one another, but they may never fulfil them. This is due to the nature of man, who is limited in power and provision.
Unlike the above example, God is not a man who can lie or fail. Today’s passage revealed the coming of Jesus and the fulfilment of the purpose of his coming. For this purpose, the Son of Man came into the world to destroy the works of the devil.
Sickness, deafness, blindness, and death are all the works of the devil. Jesus came to destroy them. Therefore, when John the Baptist was doubtful of whether Jesus was truly the Messiah, he told his disciples to tell of his works. Wherever Jesus is, mighty and wonderful works are present.
If Jesus is in your life, mighty and wonderful things should be happening to you and around you. Be conscious of this truth, and you will see wonderful things happen in your life. Expect wonderful things to happen to you because when God promises a thing, he will do it.
The Bible tells us ‘how God anointed Jesus’. He went about doing good, healing all those people who were oppressed by the devil because God was with him. Acts 10:38
The John the Baptist
The President of the United States of America disguised himself, wearing a face cap and riding a bicycle. He rode to a less boisterous part of the country, the slums. There, people hit him, spat on him, and hurried him out of the way.
In today’s passage, Jesus was telling the people about who John the Baptist is. Despite his wild dressing and living in the wilderness, John the Baptist was the greatest of all prophets who had come into the world before Jesus. The reason is that other prophets foretold the coming of Jesus, but none of them lived to see him. But John the Baptist foretold the coming of Jesus and also saw him.
It is the presence and reality of Jesus in our lives that makes us great. Greatness is not by the amount of material possessions we have, the positions we occupy, or the number of countries we have travelled to. Greatness is to know the true God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
There is no one God cannot use. He chooses whoever He pleases.
Graciousness of God
When leaders or people in government do laudable things, they are usually praised and rewarded by their people. People do this by conferring honorary awards on such leaders. On the other hand, leaders who are not performing well in office usually easily become unpopular with the people.
God is a good God. He is good to us, not because we are good to Him or because we deserve His goodness, but because it is His nature. His greatness is unsearchable. He is the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, and His name is holy. God is a good God, and he is deserving of our praise. We ought to declare the mighty works that He has done, from the days of the Bible till now, in our lives. The Lord does mighty things. He is good, kind and tender to all. In His grace and mercy, He saved us. He rescued us from damnation and separated us from the perishing.

Prayer 1

Lord, help me to trust in Your ability and power to be victorious and help me to forge ahead, even amid persecution, and never deny You in the special name of Jesus.

Abba Father, help me to remain faithful to the end and arise and save me from troubles and afflictions. Give me victory over my enemies in the mighty name of Jesus.

Lord, let Your kingdom be more established in Jesus’ name. Help me to be more generous to people in need in Jesus’ name.

Lord, revive the nature of generosity in me so that I can help those in need in the name of Jesus. Help to align my life with Your life to gain blessings and not curses in the name of Jesus.
