The Book of Psalms is the Bible lyrics consisting of songs, prayers and poems, which helped millions of people to comfort, encourage and heal them.

This Psalm presents to people the healing that is forgiveness, redemption and renewal. It fosters thanksgiving and appreciation of the many ways in which God has been good to us and is still good to us.

Psalm 41: The LORD heals those who trust in Him

Verse 1: Happy is he that concerneth himself with the lowly

In this context, special emphasis is placed on the concern for the better part of the weak or vulnerable in society as there is a guarantee from God for deliverance to those who for instance show kindness to such groups.

Verse 2: The Lord is their defence and deliverer.

Psalm 30: Joy Comes with the Morning

Verse 1: I will praise thee, O Lord my God.

 Verse 2: Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed

Therefore, a direct account of healing that has taken place after a call upon God for assistance is provided, which shows that God answers calls.

Verse 3: He brought me up also from the pit of the lower world.

There is a noted shift in the approach of the Psalmist but the hairs of his head remain in the hands of God who has delivered him from the situation that almost killed him, symbolically denoting the power of salvation and life.

Verse 4: Let the redeemed of the Lord that he is telling this story sing and praise the Lord.

The Psalmist urges the congregation to sing to God because he is holy and deserving of people’s praise.

Verse 5: For a man’s anger is but for a moment.

Some of the things that are seen to provoke the anger of God are considered minor in the sight of God compared to His favour. Here, they get to play the assurance of joy in the following of sorrow as a major theme, providing comfort and hope of refreshment.

Verse 3: Therefore my soul is in deep anguish, how long oh Lord, how long.

Verse 4: O turn thee unto me, and save me; for thy mercies sake.

It enables freedom when praying and invoking the assurance of Jehovah’s merciful deliverance.

Today still these Psalms which were penned thousands of years ago are relevant and can provide consolation. They include the various covers of healing which are physical, emotional and spiritual healing hence showing the intaken care that God gives.
