A Joyous Woman

Diferences

We love the change of seasons in our world. Some of us love winter, some summer while others autumn. No matter the season you love there are often some tell-tales that let you know that a change of season is coming or you are already in a changed season that you were waiting for. It is the same when it comes to the season of sadness and the season of laughter.

When you are experiencing mourning or sadness you are depleted, depressed, sad, have multiple reasons to complain, and feel unsatisfied. But, what are the signs that you may be experiencing that can show you that you are in your season of laughter?

Laughter through unexplainable joy

The first thing that wi bring you a season of laughter is a sense of unexplainable joy and laughter. Proverbs 17:22 says “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” This means that you may not know what is causing your joy or happiness but you find yourself being more joyful as the days go by.

You are joyful even when you are meant to be worrying, fearful, and anxious. Suddenly, you feel light and you find more reasons to be joyful each day because you feel that the weight that was on your shoulders regarding your situation or how your future will turn out is gone.

Trust God

To experience this unexplainable joy you find yourself leaning more on God trusting in His goodness and plans for your life. You are fully surrendering to Him and knowing that your season of laughter is at hand. Even when things are not perfect you are finding more reasons to be present in the moment and thankful for all that God is doing in your life.

Additionally, you are basking in the joy of totally letting go and letting God take control. So embrace your season of laughter fully because God is showing you that indeed He can turn your bad situation into something good and give you reasons to laugh.

Laughter through Optimistic positivity

The second sign of the season of laughter is when you feel optimistic. You no longer let the situations, bad things, ill health, rejection, or grief of the past make you feel downcast. You now walk in the assurance that everything will work out greatly, especially way more than you think or imagine.

Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” This means that when you start trusting God no matter what your reality looks like, you feel optimistic and hopeful, and you are sure on your way into your season of laughter.

During your season of laughter, you are basking in the knowledge and understanding that God’s love, goodness, and sovereignty are all that you need to be okay. Things may be going on in your life and those of your family that don’t make sense but you have reached that point where you know that God is actively working behind the scenes to ensure everything pans out well.

In your season of laughter, you are finding it easier to trust that God cannot say a thing or make promises and it doesn’t come to pass because God is a promise keeper and He doesn’t fail. So, even when challenges come, you are holding on to your faith.

Be positive always

When your life is in chaos you are optimistic that God will calm the storms of your life. Through your optimism and faith, you already see instances where God has shown up and has proven Himself in your life and situation.

So, even when things around you are not working you still feel the immense sense of hope that things are going to turn around speedily in your life. You realize that now you are holding on to God the more in this season of your life and your previous or current circumstances is not the determinant of your joy.

At the back of your mind during your season of laughter, you are looking on to God and believing that all things are going to turn around for your good, regardless of the antic of the devil. When you start feeling optimistic regardless of the struggles that would have defined you, you are in your season of joy, laughter, and victory.

So, focus on the goodness of God in your life that has been sufficient to you even when you did not deserve it. Continually trust in Him to make every crooked path straight. Believe that there will only be silver linings in your life with enough reason to be joyful.

Laughter through unexpected testimonies

The third sign of the season of laughter is when you are experiencing unexpected testimonies or blessings. Psalm 126:2 says “Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.” This aptly describes that the unexpected testimonies you experience will be so great that even people around you will notice the blessing. Ecclesiastes 3:4 says,

“A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.” which shows that the unexpected testimony can come so quickly it can take you a moment to fully grasp what is happening. One moment you are sad, downcast, grieving, trying to make sense of what is going on in your life, and the next moment you get that miracle phone call, change of story, complete turnaround, and testimony that leaves you wondering how it happened.

Sarah in the bible was old when the prophecy came that she would have a child with Abraham. To everyone and in our current world it is medically impossible to give birth at that age. She laughed when her prophecy came because she believed it wouldn’t happen. later, when Isaac was born whose name translated to laughter she explained that all who heard of her giving birth at an old age would laugh with her.

Blessings of the testimony

Her story shows that the blessings you experience or your testimonies may be unexpected. In your mind, you think it is impossible. You may have even prayed several times about it and lost hope about God answering or coming through for you in that situation or answering that particular prayer point. When God finally ushers you into your season of laughter you will be shocked at what He can do because what He will do will blow our minds.

Your unexpected testimony may not be a child at old age like Sarah. It could be unexpected visits from loved ones or surprise gifts that are timely. Joyful people may come into your life when you least expect or you form bonds and connections with new people. God may bless you with healing and restoration.

Your testimony could be finally finding peace when you have been in a state of anxiety or worry for so long leading you to feel free from your worries. God may show up in other ways by answering prayers you had prayed years ago reminding you that you are living in your answered prayers and season of laughter.

Laughter through unending peace

The fourth thing for the season of laughter is when you experience a deep sense of peace that is unexplainable and incomprehensible. Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” your life could be in chaos, things could be moving in an unexplainable way, and everybody around you expects you to fret and worry because things are terrible but you have this strong sense of peace.

This peace is not just a feeling, but a state of being that comes from trusting in God’s sovereignty and goodness. You know that God is King and ruler of the heavens and the earth so He will usher you into your season of laughter. In this moment you are at rest with the knowledge that God is working and is in control of everything.

The peace you experience in your seasons of laughter will be surprising to you and unexplainable. You are no longer wondering if you will be able to maintain your season of laughter because you know God has your back.

You need a sense of calmness

So, when you start experiencing unexplained peace, it means that you are feeling a deep sense of calm and serenity that isn’t necessarily tied to specific circumstances or events. Peace is a manifestation that God’s presence and hand are resting heavily on your life which shows that God is leading you into the life or season you once prayed for you now have inner stability and you do not allow any eternal influences dictate your moods and emotions. We know that the peace of God is the fruit of the holy spirit.

So, experiencing it shows that God is with you and He is answering your prayers. When you are at peace and not perturbed by anything, God is refreshing and rejuvenating you, leading to a season of laughter and joy.

No matter what the devil may be planning to throw your way he will not succeed because God has already placed you in your season of laughter and He will not let anything disrupt the peace He has gifted you.

Laughter through healing and restoration

The fifth sign of the season of laughter is when you are experiencing healing and restoration in your life. In the Bible, God assured us that He will restore the years that the cankerworms and caterpillars have eaten which is a reminder that when you are in your season of laughter, you will experience restoration that you cannot begin to describe.

The restoration and healing in your life could be mental, spiritual, emotional, or physical. When God decides to heal and restore, heals you completely. There is some trauma that you may have been holding on to, you may have found it difficult to forgive those who hurt you, forgiving yourself may also have been an issue because you find out that you keep blaming yourself for letting bad things happen to you.

When God restores you He makes you forgive yourself and others. He makes you let go of the baggage that you have been carrying out for so long. He helps you experience His grace and redemption which shows you that God loves you no matter where you have been or what you have done. His restorative power makes you whole and ushers you into the season of freedom from every form of baggage and wholeness.

The reason to laugh

You notice that you feel lighter, you have more reason to laugh, and you find God showing up for you in ways that you cannot even begin to explain. When you are completely healed and restored you find more reason to be grateful and joyful. Things that used to make you sad or depressed no longer have such power over you because you have completely let them go and you are depending on God.

During your season of restoration, God will make you experience a fresh start or a new chapter in your life. Remember how Job in the bible lost all his children and resources? When God finally restored him his life felt new. He had children, his financial turnaround was amazing and his life also surprised the people in his life. He was now in his season of laughter and forgot the pain, sickness, and depression he felt before his season of laughter came.

You may not have gone through all that Job went through but you can admit that things have not been as rosy as they should be. But, that new job, a new relationship, a new home, or a new opportunity that you are experiencing could be the sign that you are already in your season of laughter.

God restoring your life and giving you new beginnings is His way of helping you start your life anew leaving all remnants of your past in the past. Embrace the restoration that God has presented to you with happiness and excitement. Do not second-guess what God is doing in your life and if it will be temporary.

Trust God

Trust Him to maintain your season of laughter. New beginnings that God is ushering you into can be scary and you will find it difficult to navigate these blessings that God is pouring into your life. but they are also a chance to rediscover yourself, try new things, and explore new possibilities. Embrace this sign with open arms and a grateful heart, knowing that God is guiding you every step of the way which means you are not alone and you have no reason to fear.

Now that you know the things that you could be seeing in your life which are confirmation that you are in your season of laughter, you need to know what you can do to access your season of laughter. Psalm 16:11 says, “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”

This verse shows the importance of being in God’s presence, seeking His face and His guidance on what to do to access your season of laughter. The presence of God is something that must not be toyed with or taken lightly. The presence of God fills you with direction on what to do and not do if you want to access your laughter. When you constantly experience the presence of God you do not lack reason to laugh or be joyful because you experience the peace and Joy that only comes from being with God.

God’s Presence

Additionally, God’s presence helps you see life from a divine perspective, allowing you to find humour and irony in difficult situations. What others find as painful or difficult you look at it from the perspective that God is trying to bring Himself glory and that thongs are not as bad as they seem to the physical eyes. When your life is not going as planned, the presence of God is just what you need to find strength and comfort and not let life situations weigh you down.

Even amid trials, you find yourself laughing more and being joyful which may ordinarily make no sense to people. God’s presence fills you with hope and optimism, making it easier to find joy and laughter in everyday life it also liberates you from fear and anxiety, allowing you to embrace joy and laughter without reservation. So, already being in the presence of God enables you to easily access your season of laughter because you have the presence of a loving and joyful father who wants you to be at peace and happy at all times because you are His.

Laughter through complete fulfilment of the trust

The next thing you should do is completely trust in God. Yes, you have been in mourning for too long, you are burdened by so much that is going wrong in your life, and you are wondering when it will be your turn to laugh and make merry. God is telling you to trust in Him. he has always shown up for you, and He will not stop now. One thing God isn’t is a liar. So, if He promises that He will turn your mourning into joy, trust Him to do it.

While trusting and surrendering to God because He has your best interests you should start appreciating Him for what He has done and what He is yet to do in your life. Instead of focusing on the million things that are wrong with your life, focus on the thousand things He has done right in your life.

When you appreciate God you are showing Him that you trust Him to usher you into your season of laughter. You need to walk into your laughter with praise, thanksgiving, and rejoicing. Nehemiah 8:10b says, “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” you must choose to be joyful and you can do that by seeking reasons to be grateful and maintaining the posture of gratitude.

Continually worship, appreciate, and thank God for who He is in your life. When you recognize the seemingly small things He does for you like having a roof over your head, having a job, not begging for food, and walking around with ease, you are giving God more reason to bless you and ensure that you access more reasons to remain in the season of laughter.

Be grateful

Being grateful to the point where you can access your season of laughter can be difficult but it doesn’t mean it is not possible or doable. Always look at the positive in your life, when you seek reasons to be grateful, God will show you and give you more reasons to be grateful. Have that awareness that God is good and He has been doing great things in your life.

Imagine you went out of your way to do something for someone and they didn’t bother appreciating, acknowledging, or feeling happy about it. Will you do it again for them? My guess is no. Imagine how God who gives you breath, shows up for you, and keeps His promises feels when you fail to or are reluctant to appreciate Him. so, make a decision not to be ungrateful. Be humble and thankful. Trust in His provision for your life and the fact that He won’t fail you.

Maintain that joyful and celebratory atmosphere and trust me, He will give you more reasons to testify. Remember that when you are grateful, you’re more likely to see the good in your life, and that is when the laughter and blessings flow. Gratitude to God opens the door to more blessings, so keep thanking and praising God for all He has done and continues to do in your life and see Him help you access your unending season of laughter.

Laughter through positive people around you

Another thing to access your season of laughter is surrounding yourself with joyful people. Spend time with positive influences in your life and those who will uplift your spirit. There are people that immediately you get around them, you feel depleted.

This is because they usually find 1000 things to complain about and be sad about while never acknowledging what is going on right in their life and what is working. The bible aptly puts it in Proverbs 13:20 when it says “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.” This shows that your company determines who you become.

When you are around joyful people, you become happy. You are also slowly ushering yourself into your season of laughter because you are actively seeking things to be joyful and merry about. Seek ways that you can spread joy and laughter to those around you. Happiness most times is contagious.

Encourage other people

So, if you can encourage other people in your life or around you, offer acts of kindness, and bring smiles to people’s faces, then do it. When you do it, you are sowing seeds that will germinate in due course. Make a conscious effort each day to share joy and laughter with those around you, whether it’s with friends, family, or community. Doing this ensures that you are not just experiencing joy alone, but you are also spreading it to others and creating a contagious atmosphere of happiness.

Sharing laughter and joy with others is good because you do not know if your act of kindness is just what they need to lift their spirit and feel better about themselves that day. Additionally, you also get to create joyful memories with those you care about and even strangers. It is easier for you to build strong relationships which helps you not to be alone because God does not want anyone to be alone.

You can share God’s love and joy with others around you which can in turn help those people draw closer to Christ when they realize you are a Christian. Being a joyful person helps those around you to feel hopeful and positive about their circumstances. Decide to share joy today so that you can also remain in your season of laughter. Remember, joy is not the absence of sorrow, but rather the presence of God in the midst of it.

Laughter through Prevailing Prayer

Lastly, do not neglect the place of prayer in accessing your season of laughter. Remember Hannah in the bible, people around her, especially her co-wife mocked and taunted her because she was barren. She tried severally to get pregnant but she could not. When she prayed at Shiloh for Samuel, she promised to give Samuel back to God if her prayers were answered. God answered her prayer.

The same woman who was sad, downcast, and lacked a reason to celebrate was now in her season of laughter because God blessed her with a male child. It was only at the place of prayer that Hannah was able to change her season of mockery into prayer. It was at the place of prayer that she got her change of story.

Always pray

When you want to access your season of laughter and turn around you must pray. As you pray, have that faith, trust, and conviction that He will answer you and show up for you. Some people pray to God for a change of season without genuinely believing that He hears them and will come through for them. You please God when you have faith in Him. he has also promised in His word that when you ask anything of Him in the name of Jesus Christ He hears you and will answer you. So, pray and believe.

You may not access the season of laughter quickly and as immediately as you would have envisioned it. But, God has assured in His word that when it is time He will make it happen. So, pray, and believe that He will show up for you and change your season.

Do not let anything steal your season of laughter. When you are in your season of laughter the devil will throw several temptations your way so that you will sin and forfeit all that God has allocated and given you. So, be watchful. Remember how you are in your season of sadness. Make a conscious decision not to ever return to that point in your life. Ask God for the grace not to return to that point. Stay humble and look unto God because He is the only one who can change seasons. Do not give up on the assignment of being a source of Joy in other people’s lives. Share laughter with people.
