Tony has never been to the airport, let alone entered an aeroplane. He was so excited the day his school organized an excursion to Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. It was an experience that reminded him of one of the Bible stories on the ascension of Jesus Christ.
It was on that excursion he saw an aeroplane taking off into the air. He thought the aeroplane would crash land in the twinkling of an eye according to the law of gravity. To his utmost surprise, the plane kept flying until it disappeared into thin air.

After the resurrection of Jesus Christ
Looking at Acts 1:1-11, after His resurrection, Christ Jesus revealed Himself to His disciples and gave them many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them for more than forty days. Jesus spent quality time with them, telling them those things about the kingdom of God.
On one of His appearances, while He was eating with them, He gave them the command not to leave Jerusalem. They were to wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit before going out to preach the gospel.
So, they gathered around Him and asked, ‘Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?’ He replied that it is not for them to know the time the Father has set by His authority.
However, He assured them they would receive power after the Holy Spirit had come upon them and they would be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. After Jesus had said this, He was taken up to heaven and a cloud hid Him from the presence of His disciples.
They looked keenly into the sky as He was ascending. Two men standing in white stood beside them and assured them that Jesus would return the same way they had seen Him ascend.
Ascension of Jesus Christ
Unlike the appearances and disappearances of the 40 days, the ascension was a gradual and visible departure. This was different and final. He would no longer appear to them. His next appearance on earth will be at His Second Coming.
There is a series of evidence to prove the ascension of Jesus Christ: First, He was seen by His disciples as He was taken up to heaven until He was covered by a cloud. Second, two angels testified to His ascension in the presence of His disciples.

The ascension means sitting at the right hand of God.
The ascension of Jesus Christ also represents going to heaven and sitting down at the right hand of Jesus Christ. He pleads for our forgiveness of our sins, mistakes, and errors. Read the following Bible verses: Acts 1: 10-11; John 6:62
The ascension represents preparing rooms.
The ascension of Jesus Christ is the promise of preparing rooms for those who accepted Him as all. The places that free us from afflictions, distress, hunger, death, wars, tumult, killing, murder. Assassination, etc. Read the following Bible Verses: John 16: 28;
The ascension is appearance and disappearance.
The ascension of Jesus Christ is that He appeared to His disciples after His resurrection and later disappeared after He had spoken to His disciples and promised them to prepare a place for us and come back to take us to the place. Read the following Bible verses: John 14: 2;1 Timothy 3:16
The ascension is the assurance of good work.
Jesus Christ assured and promised us good work if we believed in Him and His ministry. This teaches us that if we believe in the ministry of genuine ministers of God we shall do exploits and great work for God. Read the following Bible verses: John 7:33; John 14:12
The ascension begins from the prophecies.
The ascension of Jesus Christ begins by telling His disciples what would happen to Him by saying there will be a time when they will look for Him but not find Him. He also said that those who were thirsty should come and drink from Him.
All these words made the disciples say that Jesus Christ was the Prophet, the Messiah, and the like. The disciples were divided to hold him, seizing Him, laying their hands. As they were asking questions, Jesus disappeared and the disciples went home. Read the following Bible verses: John 7: 33-53.
Prayer Session
- Thank God for His mission that gives us hope for where we are going at the end of everything on this earth.
- Father, we can not do anything without the power of resurrection. Let the power of resurrection put an end to every affliction of my life in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Lord Jesus, You are our hope and You promised hope. Your hope will not leave us today and forevermore in the name of Jesus Christ.

- Jesus, You said You were going and preparing a place for us to live with you. Let me reign with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- Lord, Your power to take us home is hopeful. Oh God, don’t let me miss the kingdom of God, and let me be with You in heaven in the special name of Jesus Christ.
- Jesus Christ, You still promised that would send the Holy Spirit that would teach us everything. From today, let me be led by Your Holy Spirit so that I will not derail from You in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Lord Jesus, make the light and salt to the world that everybody will see and give glory to God almighty in the special name of Jesus Christ.

- Father, wherever I call your name, answer me and attend to my case from now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- Almighty God, the benefit of being a good and successful Christian is to inherit the kingdom of God and to reign with You. Let me inherit Your Kingdom and reign with You in the special name of Jesus Christ.
- Oh God, I must not come to this world in vain. I must not perish on this earth in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- I thank You for answering Your prayers and granting Your requests. I believe that You will be guiding me here to reign with You there in the name of Jesus Christ.
